A WEEKEND IN THE CATSKILLS…
It was a dream from the beginning: to spend the weekend in a home nestled in fall-colored mountains, sharing meals and moments and hearts with the most treasured people in our world. So we did just that.
We all journeyed to arrive at Hayfield House on Thursday. The evening was spent getting settled, decorating, and sharing plenty of hugs and conversations. We spent Friday playing games, hiking, and enjoying the fall scenery. The weekend concluded with a ceremony celebrating all that God had done in our lives. We worshipped, took communion, and prayed together. We shared our first meal as a new family unit with the families that have largely shaped who we are today, serving them out of the gratitude that filled our hearts that evening.
The sun shone when it needed to shine, and clouds came when we needed clouds. Everyone honored each other, filling the home with joy and selflessness. Peace reigned in our hearts, and not a thing would we change if there was a chance to go back and live it all again. And oh, how we wish we could live that dream again.
And so begins a life together marked by God's exceeding, abundant gifts above all we can hope or imagine.
